According to a
new study published by the University of Rochester Medical Center published in March 2010, older motorcyclists are getting into more serious wrecks than ever before, and are also vulnerable to more serious injuries than younger riders. While these findings may simply be driven by the fact that motorcycle owners in the U.S. as a whole are getting older, the findings contradict a lot of assumptions people have about younger, less experienced riders being at greater risk of injury. Among the study's findings: preexisting conditions and less resistance to injury complicate recovery for older riders; riders above 40 have higher death rates than those under 40; older riders are far more likely to end up hospitalized than younger riders, and the proportion of injured riders over 40 increased from 28% to more than 50%. When you combine these facts with the financial calamity that can attend a serious motorcycle accident, it is more essential than ever that motorcyclists
know and protect their legal rights if they are involved in an accident. If you or someone you know has been in a motorcycle accident, get the facts. You can obtain my informative book,
WRECKED: Your Legal Rights In a Motorcycle Accident, at Amazon.com. And if you live in Virginia, DC or Maryland, the book will be mailed to you for
free, or if you're in a hurry, can be downloaded
here with no obligation. Knowledge is power. Arm yourself with the facts.
