DC Contra Flow Bike Lane Is A Great Idea

DC's experimental use of a southbound "contraflow" bike commuter lane in 15th Street is a good idea.  There have been some initial problems with riders going the wrong way (North), illegally parked cars and other things, but this is a bold idea that may take some time to sort out.  I applaud any attempts by DC city officials to promote safer bicycle commuting.  It promotes health; reduces traffic; cuts down on greenhouse gas (and particulate) emissions, and provides lots of other benefits to the urban community.  I say "well done" DC - let's see more creative thinking (and action) to promote more and safer bicycle commuting!
